In a proud moment for CluneTech and its family of companies, including Benamic, founder and CEO Terry Clune has been honoured as Business Person of the Year at the prestigious Business and Finance Awards in Dublin, Ireland.
The Business and Finance Awards Programme, established in 1974, is the longest-running and most coveted business awards programme in Ireland. The Business Person of the Year Award, in association with KPMG, is a testament to an individual’s remarkable career achievements over the past year
This award follows a landmark year for CluneTech, including the significant acquisition of its company, Immedis, by UKG for €575M, marking one of Ireland’s largest tech deals in 2023. Immedis, established by Mr. Clune in 2016, addresses global payroll challenges and has seen rapid growth, leading to this high-value acquisition.
Among CluneTech’s notable achievements is TransferMate’s ascent to unicorn status, with a $1BN valuation following a $70M funding round. This milestone not only places TransferMate in the elite group of Irish tech unicorns but also underscores CluneTech’s capacity for driving substantial growth and innovation within the tech sector.
Benamic, alongside other group companies like Taxback, Taxback International, Sprintax, Visa First, and of course, TransferMate, reflects CluneTech’s commitment to providing cutting-edge business solutions with global impact. Accepting the award, Mr. Clune dedicated the honour to the entire CluneTech team, emphasising the collective effort and innovative culture that have been instrumental in the group’s success. He highlighted the importance of fostering an environment that encourages creativity and bold decisions:
