Here at Benamic, teamwork is very important to us. We’re a team of many, a diverse and varied bunch and in this new world of remote working, it’s easy to forget about the people behind the emails, the faces behind the names.

So, whether you have dealt with Benamic or are just thinking about it, we decided to do a little ‘get to know the team’ exercise, to give you some insight on where we are coming from, what makes us ‘us’, and what we’re about. Enjoy!

Next up is….

Before working at Benamic, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

For a few years, I was teaching English and German to adults and children. The courses for people who wanted to find jobs on cruise ships were particularly interesting. I organised special materials for waiters, chefs, electricians, etc and it was quite challenging to prepare them for the interview and the jobs, especially if they never spoke the language before. However, most of the time they did great, and I enjoyed quite a few tasty gifts on their return home!

In which shop, physical or online would you like to max out your credit card?

I do not own a credit card (I know!). However, if I have to recklessly spend money, right now, I would buy myself clothes that fit – a real luxury these days with that gym-aversion I have…

Choose a movie title for the story of your life and give a little bit of detail why.

“Lucky”. I am very lucky with my family, friends, and colleagues and although I have had hardships throughout the years, I am very grateful for the place I am in now.

Can you play any instruments?

Unfortunately, no. I really wanted to learn to play the piano when younger. However, everyone kept saying that my fingers are too short and chubby for a pianist and crushed my musical ambitions. I danced classical ballet for years, though.

Name two things that are still left on your bucket list.

Just two? More like two hundred, I dream big so I would say – star in a movie with Tom Cruise AND get a PhD.

Tell us about the person you really admire.

I would say my husband – he is really good-natured, patient, and determined. Let’s say that my temper could be quite challenging and he is still sane and a sweetheart, so kudos to his healthy nervous system.

What was your favourite band when you were 18?

Westlife, of course! I had the chance to see them in concert in Dublin in 2006 – a dream come true…

What fictional place would you like to visit?

A spaceship for interstellar travel.

What has been your proudest moment at Benamic?

I think it was the first Christmas party I had at Benamic. Everyone was so welcoming and nice and I felt really proud to be part of such a great team.

What do you want for your future?

I would say buy a big house, with a sea view, so I can have enough space for the piano I would learn to play and for my telescope and those new credit card clothes! Hopefully, also finish that sci-fi novel I started years ago and get that degree in biophysics. The backup plan would be to be a good mom for my son and one covid-free day spend a relaxing week on the Italian Riviera.
